One of the most important factors to consider when buying a vehicle is whether it has enough seating to fit your needs.
After all, you wouldn’t want to get crammed into a small vehicle with more people than it can accommodate.
Jeep vehicles come in a variety of seating arrangements, so it is imperative for you as a buyer to know which ones best suit you and your family’s requirements.
We’ve listed the seating arrangements on different Jeeps to help you decide.

Seating Chart for Jeep Models
Recently, Jeep has started to expand its range of seating options. Previously, most Jeep Models had a standard 5 seating option.
|Jeep Grand Cherokee||No||5|
|Jeep Grand Cherokee L||Yes||7|
|Jeep Grand Wagoneer||Yes||8||8|
As seen, the only Jeep models that offer 3rd-row seating are the Jeep Grand Cherokee L, the Jeep Wagoneer, and the Jeep Grand Wagoneer.
Jeep Grand Cherokee L
This innovative vehicle is the first ever of the Jeep lineup to take a chance with third-row seating. The last one, the Jeep Commander, was discontinued in 2010.
It has seating space for 7 people, with 2 seats in the third row. You can have an added seat if you’d like to maximize seating space. The front seats come with 16 ways of power adjustment. This means that passengers can optimize their comfort on the seats to their liking.
Moreover, the seats also have a massage feature that passengers can use. That’s not all; the seats also have a memory feature that allows passengers to keep the seats in the exact position they want every time.
Another bonus is the legroom these seats come with, so you can kick your feet back and relax without those awful leg cramps. The LED lighting also helps create a relaxed atmosphere inside the vehicle, which you can customize to your liking.
If you require more cargo space, you can fold down the 3rd-row seats to create 50 cubic feet of space to store cargo. Alternatively, if you require even more space and can spare the seating, you could fold both the 2nd and 3rd rows to create a whopping 85 cubic feet of cargo space. Regardless, you can configure the seating to your needs!
The interior also comes equipped with an 8.4” touch screen and a quad-zone climate control so that passengers can set the temperature to what they like individually.
Jeep Grand Wagoneer
Launched in 2021 but marketed with the model year 2022, the Jeep Grand Wagoneer is another vehicle that has ditched the typical 5-seater model for more spaciousness. The front seats come with a 24-way power adjustment, which makes it easily customizable to your liking.
Moreover, like the Jeep Grand Cherokee L, the seats have memory settings, so you can keep them configured to your desired position. All Jeep Grand Wagoneer seats have massaging capabilities installed, so a comfortable ride is pretty much guaranteed.
Another innovative feature of this vehicle is the distinction between the 2nd and 3rd rows for climate control. The four-zone automatic climate control allows passengers to keep temperatures to their comfort. This will also help prevent those arguments on road trips over whether the AC is too cold!
You can choose to lower the 3rd row to make 73 cubic feet of cargo space and lower both the 2nd and 3rd rows to create an impressive 97 cubic feet of cargo space. That said, the Jeep Grand Wagoneer features one of the highest cargo capacities in the lineup, so we don’t think it’ll be necessary for you to do that.
Moreover, you can also make use of ambient LED lighting to create a relaxing atmosphere inside. The Jeep Grand Wagoneer’s interior also features a Uconnect 5 infotainment interface, Amazon Alexa, and multiple touch screens.
Jeep Wagoneer 2022
Also part of the lineup is The Jeep Wagoneer 2022. This vehicle boasts heated and ventilated front seats with 12-way adjustable power. This essentially guarantees that passengers will have a comfortable ride.
Like the other two vehicles we’ve mentioned, the Jeep Wagoneer also comes with tri-zone climate control. It also features a 506-watt audio system, in case you’re a fan of a concert experience on the road.
Among its other features are Amazon Fire TV, a panoramic sunroof, a 19-speaker stereo, and of course, a Wi-Fi hotspot. On its own, the Jeep Wagoneer has 27 cubic feet of cargo space. With the 3rd-row seats folded, you can have 70.8 cubic feet of space. With the 2nd and 3rd rows folded, you can have 117 cubic feet of space.
You can choose however you’d like to fold the seats, that is, whether you’d like to fold them partially or entirely.
How to Install More Seats in your Jeep
If your current Jeep doesn’t meet your seating requirements, don’t worry, as you can still add more seating to your vehicle. Simply go to your trusted mechanic or technician, and they’ll present you with a list of 3rd-row seating options that you can choose from. Keep in mind, though, that these additions tend to void your warranty, so it’s wise to double-check the warranty policy for your specific Jeep model.
Also important to note is that the addition of more seats will reduce the maneuverability of your ride.
Jeep is a company that prides itself on producing vehicles fit for off-roading. The many features of Jeep vehicles, such as skid plates, solid-axle design, and 2-way driving systems, all intend to make vehicles efficient for off-roading, setting an industry standard.
It is for this reason that most Jeeps, until now, have chosen to avoid the 3rd Row seating plan. For an off-roading vehicle, it is critical for safety and performance that it is not fully packed.
Moreover, without a 3rd row, you get to store more in the back of your vehicle. There is a trade-off between extra seating space and storage space, so it is for you to make that decision.
What Jeep Model has 7 seats?
Currently, the only Jeep model offering exactly 7 seats is the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L.
Can I add more seats to my Jeep myself?
While it is possible for you to DIY the installation of more seats, we’d advise you to leave this to the professionals, as an improperly attached seat can be an injury hazard.
Is the Jeep Wrangler a 7-seater?
The Jeep Wrangler is not a 7-seater vehicle. That said, you can make after-factory additions. This will come at a high cost and will also reduce the nimbleness of your ride.
How many Jeep Models have 5 seats?
Pretty much the entire Jeep lineup offers 5 seats. This includes the Jeep Compass, Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, Gladiator, and Wrangler.
